DR. JULIE LEFORT
POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER
I am interested in how spatial information is built in the brain and used for efficient navigation. During my PhD, I studied the contribution of cerebellar plasticity to the processing of sensory signals for building a reliable hippocampal spatial map. Focusing on how oscillations organize activity between brain structures, my post-doctoral work investigated the links between respiratory rhythm, prefrontal cortex 4Hz oscillation and the expression of fear behavior. Using in vivo single unit recording, my project in Hugo Spiers‘s lab aimed to understand hierarchical navigational planning in the hippocampus and medial prefrontal cortex of rodents.
